Marvin Williams

Chicago native Marvin Williams is a new addition to Our Daily Bread, but he’s no stranger to RBC, having penned numerous articles for Soul Journey (now called Our Daily Journey). Marvin is senior teaching pastor at Trinity Church in Lansing, Michigan. Educated at Bishop College in Dallas, Texas, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, he has also been associate pastor of youth at New Hope Baptist Church, assistant pastor at Calvary Church, and lead pastor at Tabernacle Community Church, all in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Marvin and his wife, Tonia, have three children in a close-knit and active family. Marvin enjoys light-saber duels and playing basketball and Play Station 2 with his boys, Marvin Jr. and Micah. He says that next to his wife, daughter Mikayla gives the best hugs and kisses. Recently, everyone in the family took a foreign-language class together.
Marvin frequently refers to the guiding principle found in Joshua 1:8, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.”
